Privacy policy

MeasureShare is built to keep tailoring measurements in your hands. This policy explains how we use the personal data needed to provide that service.

What we collect

We collect the information needed to create and protect your private profile: your email address and verification status; your profile name and preferences; measurements, units, dates, flags and measurement history; and the details of the private links you create.

If you choose to add it, we also collect your phone number. We record limited security information such as sign-in request IP addresses, account-session IP addresses and browser details to protect the service and prevent abuse. We use essential cookies, described in our cookie policy.

Why we use it

We use your data to provide the profile, measurement capture, account access, private sharing, data export and deletion features you ask us to provide. Our lawful basis for this is performance of our contract with you, or taking steps you ask us to take before creating an account.

We also use the minimum necessary data to secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and diagnose technical problems. Our lawful basis for those activities is our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable service. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use measurement data for tracking.

Where your data is kept and who can see it

Your personal data is stored in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Measurement values, email addresses and phone numbers are encrypted at rest. We use hosting and email-delivery providers only to operate MeasureShare on our behalf.

Your profile is private by default. We do not disclose your measurements to tailors or anyone else unless you create a private link for them. A recipient can view only the profile information that the link permits; you can withdraw a link at any time. Withdrawing a link cannot remove a document someone has already downloaded or printed.

If a request is complex or you make several requests, we may take up to two additional months, and will tell you why within the first month. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Children's profiles

You must be at least 16 to create a MeasureShare account. A child's profile is managed only by its parent account and can never be shared.
